Missing in action
The Independent Catholic News (ICN) has an apparently most puzzling story from Palestine. Their account of what happened paints a simple picture of a deliberate (or at least reckless) attack by Israelis troops, who fire on a group of children in a strawberry field, killing seven of them. Now it cannot be said that Israeli forces never commit crimes, but this still sounded unlikely, so perhaps more details would soon be forthcoming?
Fortunately, there was also this story, found elsewhere, and in fact published several days before the ICN story (so it was not that more details only emerged later). Israeli forces were returning fire into the strawberry field because mortar rounds had been fired at them from there, and had injured an Israeli.
Why, that's different. However could ICN miss these details?
